Rosemary Ardayfio

Rosemary Ardayfio was born in Accra, is a Christian worshiping with the Methodist Church and is married with two children, both girls. She has schooled in the Ghana Institute of Journalism, Liverpool school of tropical medicine, Liverpool University, UK and John Hopkins University Center for Communication programme, Baltimore, US. She is a member of Women in Management (WIM), Center for Development of Population Activities (CEDPA) and was a journalism fellow on the World Health Organisation in 2002.

She is the women’s page editor and coordinates, gathers, plans and designs the women’s page in the Daily Graphic. She does not see her being a woman as challenging to her work because she consciously decided to be a career woman as well as make a family, so she balances well and everything is fine.

Her work is very competitive therefore a lot has to be put in it to make a mark. That is her strength because it makes her even work harder. She was the only journalist from Ghana whose piece was selected with others from around the African continent for an award.

She won the GSMF award for reporting on malaria, commission on Children’s award for feature writing on children and UNFPA award for population reporting and development issues. She has also attended many international conferences on various health topics like HIV, tobacco, tuberculosis, lung disease, malaria etc. and a US reproductive health conference.

She hopes to own a news media consultancy in the near future. She prays that everyone fight for their place in society and take advantage of opportunities as we grow up in life.
