Matilda Amoo, Akweteman Electoral Area

Matilda Amoo

Matilda is a seamstress and has lived in Akweteman for 24 years. She decided to stand to be elected as the assembly woman for the area because she thought that was one sure way to serve one’s community. She is in the race with five men but she believes she will win the election. Her community has no health post and recreation centres. They also need a nursery for the children of market women. She hopes to bring development to her community by drawing attention to these issues and asking the assembly to provide these services when necessary.

Mercy suggests that contracts should be awarded to people who live in the area to allow for proper monitoring by assembly members. This will also create employment for the youth in the area and the members of the community are likely to take better care of the facilities. She says her campaign is going well. She hopes to be diligent when she is elected as assembly woman for the Akweteman electoral area.
