Adelaide Akpini

Mrs. Adelaide Akpini is a 37 year old Presbyterian woman who is married with one son and a daughter. She is an Akan who has been in the teaching profession since1995 and is presently teaching English Literature at Holy Trinity Cathedral Sec. School (Accra High Street).

She attended the University Of Education Winneba where she obtained a Bachelor in Education (English). She is involve in drama and singing at her local church.

She has to combine parenting with teaching without a house help. This makes her get little time for herself hence a challenge. Students she teaches are also not co-operative since some even leave their English readers at home thereby disturbing lessons.

She suggested there should be rules and regulations after those who do not attend class regularly and those unserious students in the school.

Through Gods word she draws inspiration which serves as her guide and strength in life not forgetting her parents who take care of her children during weekends.

She is someone who wants to climb higher on the social ladder so she plans to develop herself so as to work in a different area apart from teaching. In the same vein, she wants Ghanaian women to upgrade themselves and not to use family matters as excuses thus get ‘somewhere’ in life.
